We sat for a press meet with the team of MNP+ one of the biggest NGO in india.
while Ranbir Thouna and Purujit talks about the role of Tamna Sangai intentions towards the campaign, MNP+ team talked about their education project for the children affected & infected by HIV. presently they are supportingt 40kids on a trial basis. in 2010, their target is to support 1000 kids.
i talked about my role as a filmmaker. Inspite of my hectic schedules,
i have cancelled some dates to make a music video called LIFE that would play multi-role
as a fundraising and social advocacy tool.
i have already visited and documented about 15 families affected by the VIRUS and their testimonies would be played during the upcoming music concert on 22nd nov, 2009. the testimonies reveal the traumas and the problems faced by this emerging group.

hiv+ children fund raiser

my friend Ranbir Thouna and i am back again with another campaign in association with
MNP+ to advocate the welfare of the children infected & affected by HIV. We are lauching a music video 'LIFE' - music,vocals & lyrics by Ranbir and video directed by me. on 22nd Dec, a musical concert - Ranbir's 8th LIVE ON STAGE with video installations produced by me will take centrestage of the campaign. Poster campaigns are already in full swing.
Our efforts hope to generate more donors to educate the children of the epidemic.

Irom Sharmila's festival

2nd Nov to 6th Dec 2009- 5 days festival of photo exhibition, drama 'Hazar chaurasi ki ma', music concert with lyrics written by eche Sharmila, sit in protest in solidarity with the 'Save Sharmila campaign', Human Rights film festival by INSAF, all community prayer and feast form the highlights of the fest.
I met ma Maheswata devi-a doyen of indian literature, writer Deepti Priya Mehrotra, Daya Bai from MP who is a tigress of woman activisim and ofcourse an old friend Kavita Joshi who has made a film on Sharmila 'my body, my weapon'. Deepti has written a book on eche Sharmila 'BURNING BRIGHT' which I havent have time to read due to my very tight hectic shooting schedules.
